- It costs about 12 AUD for a personalised black forest cake. They are particularly tasty with the message “Happy Birthday Dear Mzungu Branka” on them
- Street boys will chalk the number one on peoples backs if they have been mean to them. This encourages all of the other street boys to steal and/or beat these people
- A lot of the street boys sniff glue to help them overcome hunger pains :/
- Most of the menus feature images of mexican food, but a lot of Kenyan people don’t actually know what mexican food is
- Speakers can be bigger than vehicles
- Pork is rare
- Kenyans SERIOUSLY love their ugali
- The quality of EVERYTHING is horrible compared to Australia
- Toast = Bread, Roasted Toast = Toast
- The Swahili word for white person is “Mzungu”
- The leading brand of matches are “Rhinos”… Ironic… Rhinos being the firefighters of the land
- Kenyan triangle doughnuts are called Madazis and are about the tastiest things in Africa. They cost about 7c AUD
- Most cars are the rejects from the rest of the world. Such as the Nissan Sunny and Isuzu Wizard
- There are also, surprisingly, some really expensive cars. Such as the Audi Q7 and brand new Mercedes S63AMG
- The Eveready battery plant is located about 3km out of Nakuru
- Coca-Cola comes in 300mL, 500mL & 1L bottles and begins at about 40c AUD (5c AUD extra to keep the glass bottle)
- Flowers are grown all around Nakuru
- Pangas (Machetes), washing machines, fireworks, alcohol & registered motorbikes are sold at supermarkets. Next to the fruit & veg aisle (We don’t recommend you walk out with all of these at the same time)
- A lot of the Kenyan people are layabouts
