If you are wondering where orphanage donation money will be going, besides the general support of the orphanage of course, these are some of the current projects Ian has been working on.

1. Courtyard Renovation

The current courtyard that the children share is very dirty and dark. Although not one of the highest priorities it would be nice for the children to have a colourful, clean and fun play area. This would also help to ensure that the kids toys aren’t lost or sold by the children or carers.

2. Tourist Camp

The tourist camp will help the “phans” by getting tourists to stay a night at the orphanage. At the moment the orphanage is running at a loss; Ian hopes that this tourist camp can help raise awareness and maybe even generate a stable income for the orphanage. Due to a lack of funding Ian has had to concentrate on just one of the tourist camps (out of the future 6).

3. New School Building

Currently the school consists of a number of decrepit and dark transformed chicken pens. These buildings don’t properly meet the required standard for them to be recognised nationally. This new building is a lot larger and with basics such as windows this school should provide a better learning environment for the children. This project has been paused due to a lack of funding.
